Song of the day: Mark Bacino - "Flop Of The World"
I have a feeling I'm on Mark Bacino's mailing list (Hi, Mark!), because I received an email yesterday from young Mr. B letting me know that he has a new song he'd like people to hear.
As soon as I heard it I thought "Nilsson!".* See what you think:

(*I'm hoping that Mark isn't terribly bothered or offended by the comparison to Nilsson. I'm hoping that Mark isn't stewing somewhere, muttering to himself: "Grrrrr. I don't write songs to sound like anybody else – even that Nilsson fellow. My songs are meant to sound like me!" If Mark is bothered by the comparison, then I'd like to revise my statement by saying he doesn't sound like Nilsson at all.)

Oh yeah - if I hadn't read the intro, I'd be thinking I was listening to an unreleased Nilsson track for sure. And any comparison to the great Harry is alright by my standards.
ReplyDeleteHe's got a good voice!
Hey, Stonenilssoner: I posted another song by Mark Bacino on the blog a while ago. It's a little bit on the lovely side.
